Biography
Dr Russet has over twenty years of primary care practice focused on providing high quality, structurally competent care in both rural and urban settings. In the clinic and in the classroom, she is committed to evidence-based, patient-centered care that addresses root causes and promotes health equity. Beth’s doctoral work examined nursing student’s understanding of the upstream factors, like social policies and institutional racism, that impact individual outcomes.

Additional Information
Dr. Russet is a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who spent 20 years on the rural coast of Maine, where she co-founded a homeschool collective, a midwifery practice, and a nonprofit organization serving migrant farmworkers, before returning to her native Boston in 2019. She has been teaching at UMass since 2021.
