Tides are one of the greatest natural services in coastal areas. Understanding the timing and magnitude of tides can give insight into the geomorphology and ecology of an area. They can also have huge economic impacts on an area. The Cape Lab maintains multiple data loggers throughout Cape Cod to track tidal cycles. Many of our data loggers record a water level every 6 minutes to provide a detailed look at the ebb and flood of the tides.
